COMMON QUESTIONS

Common Questions

You Have Questions, We Have Answers

What should I bring to my first appointment?
Please make sure that you arrive a few minutes early for your new patient appointment. You must have your completed new patient packet along with photo ID, your insurance cards, and a list of current medications (over-the-counter and prescribed). The new patient packet may be found on the website if you did not receive your copy in the mail.

Do I need a referral to make an appointment?
No, you do not need a referral to make an appointment with a primary care physician. We are currently accepting new patients. However, for your visit to be covered through your insurance, please contact your insurance provider to understand the terms of your policy. Please understand that your insurance may require you to assign a primary care physician for coverage.

••••

Do I need to have my blood pressure checked regularly?
We recommended that your blood pressure be checked every year after the age of 18, even if you are in good health. We also recommend annual check-ups with your primary physician and more frequent check-ups if you have additional risk factors. The most common risk factors for high blood pressure include family history, being overweight and having a high sodium or poor diet.

How is the doctor-patient relationship different here, compared to other hospitals or clinics?
We believe that our office offers a more traditional feeling than many present-day facilities. We have only one physician, so you always know whom you will be seeing. We believe this aids in providing patient-focused care. We take the time to listen to patients’ concerns and address any questions they may have. We are a physician’s office that values all of our patients and appreciates the long-lasting relationships we create with them. We like to consider our patients our family.

How will I pay for my care?
If you have insurance, please bring in your card and we will either collect your co-pay or bill you through your insurance plan. If you are not insured, we require payment at the time of service. Please note that we do not always accept self-pay patients; you must contact the office directly regarding this. We strive to have all aspects of our practice, including our professional fees, reflect our ethical and rational approach to your care.

What is your cancellation policy?
We require 24 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule all appointments. Less than 24 hours’ notice may result in a missed appointment fee. Please be sure to contact us as soon as possible if you will not be able to make your scheduled appointment with your medical doctor to avoid having to pay a cancellation/no-show fee.

How can I contact my medical doctor?
We take pride in our doctor-patient relationships and schedule plenty of time for you to get all of your questions answered. If you need to get in touch with Dr. Jehrio in between appointments, please contact our main office to leave a message or schedule an appointment. If you have access to our patient portal, you are able to leave messages or schedule an appointment through the patient portal.
